Prospective Images

Today for the Summer Learning Journey I did a prospective image. It looks like I'm trapped in this container, but I am actually standing far away and the container is really close to the camera. My three top tips are to make sure you take your time, put your camera down to the ground, and crop out the things you don't want.
 

Vector Art

 Today for the Summer Learning Journey, I made a vector art Christmas decoration for my tree. I chose a cat because it had it on the video, and I chose red and green because it's the Christmas colors. My top tips for making your own Christmas decoration are to make something that's unique to your family, Choose the colors you like, and be creative.

Amplification

Buenos Diaz, Today in cyber smart we were learning about Amplification. So I made a fish diagram and amplified it by making the keywords red.

Computational Thinking

 Today I played Santa on skates. It is a game where there are obstacles Santa has to jump over. I like it because it is challenging.

Fake Background

 Today in cyber smart we made fake photos of us in different backgrounds. We used remove background to put a fake background behind us.

Fake Magazine

 Today in cyber smart we learned about hoaxes and fakes so we did our own fake magazines using our own photos.

 Today me and my buddy made a google drawing about different kinds of media.

Parts Of Marae

 

Today I've been learning different parts of a marae since were going on a trip to a marae. For the activity, we had to drag the labels to the right places of the marae. The tricky part was to do a dual-screen. The easy part was to drag the labels. Have you been on a marae before?

House Of Cards

 This is my house of cards that I did, it is only 2 cards high because I tried doing 4 cards high but it kept on falling. The hard part was putting it up and nothing was easy.

Lego House

  This is my lego house, it has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 living room, and one kitchen. The hard part was putting the pieces together because it kept on falling apart. The easy part was making the bed, tv, and toilet.

Grand Prix Multiplication

 This game is called Grand Prix Multiplication, it is a multiplication game where you have to answer the questions and try to beat your friends. The tricky part was figuring out the questions quickly. The easy part was the 1,2,3,4 and 5 times tables.

Lego Bunny

 This is my lego bunny. It is all white, has a tail, 2 bunny ears, and a grumpy face. The thing that was hard was finding pieces and it kept on falling apart. The easy part was putting it together.

Lego Catapult

 

This is my lego catapult. I put pink, yellow, blue and purple tiles to put some colour on it. I scrunched up a little piece of paper and put it in the catapult and then it went flying. I didn't expect it would go that far. The hard part was figuring out how to make a catapult. The easy part was to make the ball.

This is my lego picture frame. It has blue, pink,grey and white. It also has weird shapes in the corners. The hard part was finding the pieces. The easy part was decorating it.

Cardboard Animals

 This is my cardboard sea lion. It is double-sided so I made one side colorful and one side normal. The hard part was colouring and cutting. The easy part was putting the pieces together.

Geometry

Today in geometry we learned about 2D shapes, quadrilateral shapes, and polygons. I did a test to see how many shapes I know. I also went on a site to learn more about polygons.

Days Of The Week In Maori

 

Today in Te Reo Maori we learned the days of the week in Maori. We learned it by singing a song. This was easy because I already memorized the song. It was also a bit tricky dragging the shapes.

 Today in Cybersmart I learned about making effective and quality blog comments. Me and my buddy made this poster showing our ideas on how to make a quality blog comment

 

My Google Summit

 Today I and some of my reading group walked to the Google Summit at Hornby Primary School. I did 4 learning activities. The first one I did was animation hacks, it taught me how to make a body. The second one was scratch and they taught me how to move the cat. 

Then we had morning tea and played on the playground with my friend. The other one was biteable, and the last one was Codey Rocky which is a robot that can move and make faces.

Yellow-eyed Penguins

Classification

Yellow-eyed penguins also known as hoiho are species of penguins and are birds but cannot fly. They also have yellow eyes and are native to New Zealand.

Habitat

Yellow-eyed penguins live in the Southeast of South Island on the Banks Peninsula. Also on Stewart Island, Codfish Island, the Auckland Islands, and Campbell Island.

Diet

Yellow-Eyed Penguins eat red cod, small fish, sprat, Ahuru, blue cod, and opal fish. 

Appearance

The yellow-eyed penguins are 65 cm tall and weigh 5 to 6 kg.Yellow-eyed penguins are tall and heavy penguins. They have yellow eyes and have stripes that wrap around them through the eyes and around their head.The sides of their heads are a light brown also the back and the tail are a slate blue.Their throat and chins are brownish-black.They have an orange beak, white front,flippers and some pinkish feet.

Reproduction

Mating takes place in mid September or October.They will have two greenish white eggs it is about 75x55 mm in size.

Fox and Sheep

 One day Fox and Sheep were in class when Ms. Wilson exclaimed “Today is the day were having a test!”. Fox was agitated, He wasn’t paying attention to class except for now. 

When Ms. Wilson was handing out the test, Fox had an idea to cheat.

Fox was sitting right next to Sheep he decided for it to be him. Fox whispered, “Let me cheat on your test or else”.

 Sheep was the smartest kid in his class so he whispered to fox the wrong answers since Sheep knew he was very gullible. Fox was suspicious about it at first but then forgot about it.

 The next day the teacher marked all of the student's tests and was handing them out to the students. Fox was excited about his test, when Ms. Wilson handed out Fox’s test he was confused and furious about it.

information. I also put the golden rules of online pictures.

Turtle and Duck

Turtle and Duck were playing games on a school day. Duck left early to get prepared for school. Duck advised Turtle to get ready, but he just ignored

Turtle stayed up all night playing video games that he fell asleep while playing. Turtle woke up already late so he dashed to school.

When he arrived he got detention for being late. When he went to class there was an exam but he forgot to study so he failed while Duck got 100%.

The boy who cried wolf

 I have been learning about fables and reading about them. In the boy who cried wolf, I think the boy and the wolf are the villains because the boy lied about there being a wolf so the villagers stop believing in him. Then I think of the wolf because he is the one who ate the sheep.

               Today I made an Easter basket on a google drawing. Then Ms. Raisin printed it out.

Swimming sport

Today I did swimming sport at school. It means we pick events like freestyle, dolphin dives, running or floatation, and race. We were allowed to pick 2 events each so I picked running and floatation. I think I did 5 or 6 in both ones. It was warm when I was in the pool but when I went out of the pool it was really cold at the end of both rounds I did I dressed up and watch the other people race. All the people were cheering also the parents got to watch. They were watching through the fence. My favourite thing about it was racing because the pool was warm and I just like racing.

Gilberthorpe school and I am going to tell you all about me.

The activities I do are piano and dance. My favourite things to do are crafts and watching the tv. My favourite subject in school is math because we do games. My best friend is called Maiyah. I have 5 people in my family my dad, mum, brother, and sister

The first day of school

On the first day of school I felt a bit scared, sleepy, and different. At the start of the day, we did our karakia with the whole hub, Mr. Huggins was playing the music with his keyboard. Then we sat back on the mat to do our roll. After that, I forgot everything I think we played games and then it was the end of the day.☺
